Small Wind Turbines For Home

Using the power of the wind is a concept that’s been around a long time.  Now we have the ability to take that same principle and convert that wind energy into electricity, and we can do it from home with small wind turbines.

When it comes to Wind Power bigger is better.  To squeeze the maximum of electricity out of the wind you needed a giant Wind Mill.  The good news is that’s not the case anymore.

We have made strides in our conversion methods so it is now possible to get a ‘bigger bang for our buck’ when converting wind energy.  That’s why it’s finally feasible to use a smaller Turbine.

It has finally gotten to the point where a Small Turbine will provide enough electricity to make it economically viable.  Add to that the fact that these household turbines can by built by anyone it really ups the potential.

In order to build your own turbine all you need is a simple to follow manual, about $200 worth of parts and some time.

All the parts you need can be found at a discount or hardware store.  It will only take you about a day, or less, to assemble your turbine yet the energy savings can be significant – upwards of 80%.

Now it is true that just one turbine won’t be enough to generate all the electricity you’ll need it can provide more than half the electricity needs for the average household.

When you take into consideration the fact that a turbine can work almost anywhere, that it can be easily built by virtually anyone, that it only costs around $200 yet can save you 80% on your electric bills, it just makes sense to build your own small wind turbines

Building a very small wind to electricity converter?

Hi all… Actually i wanted to know how to convert wind into electricity using Wind Mills but for very small scale say for a maximum of 10 V. can anyone help me in this? i have searched all over the net. but i could not find any help for such low V. all given in the net was for building a windmill for a house or something like that. But i want for very small scale.. Can anyone help me pl… its very urgent!

Well is it DC 10V or AC 10V…it really does matter,I’ll assume you want DC. For a simple project like that you can look in to your local used car parts store and buy a alternator . It makes sense right ! your car turns on with 12V DC but your alternator is the one that powers your car after it turns on…this is done by stepping down your alternator AC voltage into DC voltage. For your Application a simple used car alternator would do. it will cost around 50-60 bucks depending on where you get it. I am not really sure if a alternator has internal AC to DC conveters so the tricky part is converting the AC to DC. For this you need to have a know how of bridge rectifiers and such electronic applications…you could email me with your specs and i can see what i can do or try your luck in it….A good alternative would be to buy a AC to DC converter but those can become costly so its up to you ….hope that helped or at least gave you a idea!
